Ah, damn it!
Okay, so you’ve been a good American citizen and have listened to all the presidential debates so that you will be an informed voter. So, do you think you know your candidates? You may be surprised that it may be very difficult to differentiate between them. Why? Because they use “poli-speak” (a term I coined). This means that they speak a political language in which they don’t actually say anything. In order to test your candidate savy, I have provided quotes below taken from speeches that the candidates have made. It will be up to you to match the quote(s) with the candidate. Good luck.
As you can see from the language of “polispeak”, not much is being said. So, it certainly is difficult to determine which candidate is which. In a later post, I will give you the names of the candidates that match each quote. There is a trend with one particular candidate concerning a monopoly on “poli-speak”, can you guess which one?
