    Foolishness in Abundance

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” –Psalm 14:1

Lately, the atheists have been busy writing books.

Sam Harris, Letter to a Christian NationDaniel Dennett, Breaking the SpellRichard Dawkins, The God DelusionChristopher Hitchens, God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything

I interact via the internet with the type of people who read this stuff, and they tend to be both arrogant and ignorant. Apparently the authors of these books are no different.

World Magazine has a review of these books: Backward, Atheist Soldiers! Here are some quotes from the magazine:

    The Next “Compromise” On Iraq?
    Written by 2000l, June 27th, 2007

    The Next “Compromise” On Iraq?

    Snipped from dailykos.com.

Were you encouraged by Senate Republican Richard Lugar’s statement on the Senate floor that sounded like Republicans may be on the verge of caving on the Iraq War issue? I was. But unfortunately this may just be another political maneuver by the White House to set the stage for a “compromise” minus the timeline for withdrawal from Iraq. The one thing you can count on about politics is that nothing is ever the way it appears. Someone is always pulling the levers behind the curtain. The political hanky panky is enough to make one truly distrust our American way of democracy. So, it looks like we may be heading for another round of weak Democratic pandering to the Republican’s lock-in-step with the President.

    Episode 10 ? Quantum Mechanics
    Written by 2000l, June 27th, 2007

    Episode 10 ? Quantum Mechanics

Now it’s time for some much odder physics than you’re likely used to — we’re getting down to the sub-atomic level with quantum mechanics. This week’s episode is the third in a series on post-Newtonian physics — and none require you to do any math. If you’re new to the podcast, you’ll want to check out episodes 4 (Physics: A Brief History), 6 (Special Relativity), and 8 (General Relativity) first, just to put this material in context.

    “Hey Dude, Where’s My Vacation?”
    Written by 2000l, June 26th, 2007

    “Hey Dude, Where’s My Vacation?”

    Snipped from alternet.org.

Have you ever wondered why Americans seem to have no time and most working families feel exhausted and drained? Well, it’s because of our government’s failure to support “the little guy” and favor businesses’ bottom line instead. I find it incredible that the richest country in the world doesn’t mandate employer’s to pay for sick time or vacation. And, for those who work for companies who have no benefits such as this, life becomes extremely difficult. You may say that small businesses can’t afford to pay workers for time off, but when you hear about what other countries are doing, you may change your mind. And I guarantee, you will be envious.

10 Year Olds & Toxic Accumulation
    Written by 2000l, June 26th, 2007

10 Year Olds & Toxic Accumulation

Our kids may be moreaffected by toxins than we think.New finding show young children with heavy toxic burdens

Would you believe that right now your body, the one you have nurtured, fed and taken care of for years, (and I might say, the only one you have), may contain up to 40 toxic chemicals? And, if you have children, even your ten-year-old may harbor as many, if not more. I have been writing many Health Alert articles warning consumers and parents of the increasing concern for all the toxic chemicals we are all exposed to every day. In this regard, I came across an article about a research study that tested for man-made chemicals found in homes, offices and people and what they found may surprise you.
